EGMS is proud of its academic and technology literacy programs.  Each student has a Chromebook that is used for simulations, research, acceleration, assessment, collaboration and more.  We are also part of a CU Boulder project funded by the National Science Foundation to teach programming skills to middle school students and decrease the gender gap in STEM learning.

  • Information on 13 Reasons Why
    Good Afternoon.

Netflix's new series, 13 Reasons Why, is generating a lot of conversation in the press and in schools about youth suicide, rape, and other sensitive topics. We know that some of our students are watching the series, and many more have heard about the show.

We want to ensure that families are aware of the series and have access to information that may be helpful in talking about it with their pre-teens and teens. I've attached handouts from the National Association of School Psychologists and SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education). Both handouts provide a little information about the series, guidance for adults, links to resources, and safe messages for students.

As always, our school counselor, Kathy Young, is available if you would like to speak with her about your child specifically.
